If we are truly honest, we would admit that everyday we still seek evidence of God's love for us because for different reasons, we are still broken. For different reasons we are still lonely. For different reasons we are still empty.
If we are truly honest, we would admit that everyday we still seek evidence of God's existence, because for different reasons, everyday we see or experience things that might show that he is not there.
If we are truly honest, we would admit that everyday we still seek the evidence of God's truth because for different reasons, everyday we are faced with a lie.
If we are truly honest, we always want evidence. Prove it Lord! Prove it this way. Prove your love to me. Prove your existence to me. Prove your truths. Prove it.
The need for constant evidence will only "go away" in his presence. In his presence, right here, all doubts melt away because once again, right here, being in the presence of Jesus, nothing else matters. Only He matters, just being with Him is enough. Here, I'm reminded that he has already given you and me all the evidence we need. You've seen it, felt it, and it was real. In his presence alone will all the confusion be cleared. There's something about the presence of God that answers questions in a different way. Here the answers might not be clear but just being here even without clear answers, we are at peace. There's something about the presence of Jesus, that the more broken you are, the more freer you become. In his presence, the weaker you are, the stronger you become.
Where are you right now in your doubts? Where are you right now in your brokenness? Where are you right now in your questioning? Where are you choosing to wrestle? Are you wrestling in his presence?
Wrestling without his presence is wrestling alone. And you and me both know that trying to get answers, freedom, healing and truth doesn't come from being alone. Wrestling without his presence is wrestling in the dark but wrestling in his presence is wrestling in the light. There's a big difference. The wrestling part is not the most important part, because everybody wrestles, the most important part is where.
